This set of data provides the basis of the physical model of the RGS effective area derived before and immediately after launch. It provides the starting point for the further empirical effective area corrections calculated from the response of the RGS instruments to cosmic sources of known spectra given in RGS[12]_EFFAREACORR_vvvv.CCF.
