Revolution 0494

Observing time implementation status as of revolution 0494

Predicted end of AO1 (Open and Guaranteed); Revolution 0573 ( 24-Jan-2003 )

  Open Time Guaranteed Time ToO
Number of allocated targets (Priority A and B) 642 830 25
Allocated cumulative exposure time (ks) 14284.3 18949.8 -
Number of successfully observed targets 494 (76.9%) 688 (82.9%) -
Successfully observed cumulative exposure time (ks) 11364.5 (79.6%) 16547.5 (87.3%) 935.0

The respective implementation priorities of the Open and the Guaranteed time programmes have been adjusted several times since launch by the Science Working Team. At its December 2001 meeting, the Science Programme Committee (SPC) of ESA recommended to accelerate the completion of the Guaranteed Time programme.

Operational efficiency indicators as of revolution 0480

Instrument Efficiency Breakdown over the past 6 months Evolution of efficiency since start of routine phase
PN PN, Efficiency breakdown over the past 6 months PN, Evolution of efficiency since start of routine phase
MOS 1 MOS, Efficiency breakdown over the past 6 months MOS, Evolution of efficiency since start of routine phase
RGS 1 RGS, Efficiency breakdown over the past 6 months RGS, Evolution of efficiency since start of routine phase

Data Processing and Distribution status as of 20-Aug-2002

Total number of Planned Observations in Routine Phase (revs 0103-0490) 2035
Total number of Performed Observations in Routine Phase 1930
Total number of Observation Data Files generated 1854
Total number of Pipeline/Data Products sets generated and distributed 1760

Turnaround (in days) between Data acquisition and final Data Products distribution (last Quarter)
Values in excess of 90 days usually indicate a problem analysing the data and/or that re-processing was required.
Data production delay

Details on the Observation Status can be found on the Observation & Data Processing pages.

Publications based on XMM-Newton data

Number of publications as of 19-Aug-2002
For a complete up-to-date list of publications please check here.
165
XMM-Newton publications per quarter
As "submitted to" or "published in" refereed journals, derived from astro-ph.
XMM-Newton publications per quarter
Please note; the large number of publications in the 1st quarter of 2001 is due to the release of the A&A special on XMM-Newton.
The number of publications in the quarter at the time of issue is an underestimate.
