XMM-Newton Workshop "Ultra-Luminous X-ray sources and Middle Weight Black Holes":
deadline for abstract submission

As announced in issues #95 and #103 of this Newsletter, the XMM-Newton Science Operations Centre (SOC) is organising an astrophysical workshop from Monday the 24th to Wednesday the 26th of May 2010 at the ESA's European Space Astronomy Centre, ESAC, in Villanueva de la Cañada, near Madrid, Spain.

This is a reminder on the approaching deadline for abstract submission: please submit your abstracts by Thursday, the 18th of March.

10th XMM-Newton SAS Workshop

The XMM-Newton SOC announces the 10th SAS Workshop, which will be held at the European Space Astronomy Centre of ESA in Villanueva de la Cañada (near Madrid, Spain) between the 21st and the 25th of June 2010.

SAS Workshops aim at providing XMM-Newton users with a basic introduction to the procedures and techniques to successfully reduce and analyse XMM-Newton data. The 5-day workshop is organised around 5 half-days of presentations and 5 half-days of practical training sessions. The sessions cover all aspects of data reduction and data analysis for all the X-ray cameras and the Optical Monitor on-board XMM-Newton.
