Users Group meeting #12:
invitation from UG to contact them for comments

The XMM-Newton Users Group (UG) will hold its yearly meeting next May 19th - 20th at ESAC. As always we would like to invite you to contact any of the members of the UG and/or myself if you have any sort of feedback, suggestion or topic that you would like the UG to discuss in relation to the XMM-Newton operations. Our goal is to discuss and echo to the project the concerns and suggestions for improvement that XMM-Newton users have, so we rely strongly upon your input.

Thanks for your help,

Xavier Barcons, Chair, XMM-Newton Users Group

Patch to SAS v11.0.0

A general patch to SAS v11.0.0 has been released on March 24 2011, to solve the inconsistencies found in the use of image masks with the ESAS tasks and the upgraded task emask. Some other improvements to ESAS have been added, which need an upgrade of the ESAS CALDB. Therefore, with this patch a synchronisation with ESAS CALDB:

     ftp://xmm.esac.esa.int/pub/ccf/constituents/extras/esas_caldb

is necessary.

The opportunity has also been taken to add to the documentation some task descriptions that had not been included in the previous release by mistake.

Only users who have downloaded SAS v11 before March 24 2011 should apply the patch.

Yours sincerely,
XMM-Newton SOC
