XMM-Newton AO-10 Long Term Plan

The scheduling of the tenth cycle of XMM-Newton observations, AO-10, started on May 1st 2011 and is expected to finish at the end of April 2012.

On May 6th, the long-term scheduling plan for the AO-10 period has been released at:

Principal Investigators of pending XMM-Newton observations can check this plan, especially if scheduling constraints were granted following the Time Allocation Committee recommendations.

11th XMM-Newton SAS Workshop: deadline for registration May 27th

As announced in XMM-Newsletter issue #119, the 11th SAS Workshop will be held at the ESA's European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Villanueva de la Cañada (near Madrid, Spain) between the 6th and the 10th of June 2011.

SAS Workshops aim at providing XMM-Newton users with a basic introduction to the procedures and techniques to reduce and analyse XMM-Newton data. The 5-day workshop is organised around 5 half-days of presentations and 5 half-days of practical training sessions. The sessions cover all aspects of data reduction and data analysis for the X-ray instruments and the Optical Monitor on-board XMM-Newton.

The pre-registration deadline is now over and final registration deadline has been set to Friday May 27th. Interested persons that have not done it yet are encouraged to register. More information about the workshop and registration process can be found at the following page:
