Release note for pipeline version 02000032/20010212.141403

Pipeline version 02000032/20010212.141403 was released on 12/Feb/01.
It is a modification of the previous pipeline (02000028/20010122.100409,
released 22/Jan/01) in which changes are restricted to minor alterations in
the pipline module logic and, more importantly, changes in the parameter
values of the SAS calls. There is no change in the SAS package versions used.
The number of simultaneous pipeline processes is reduced to 4.

The current SAS (5.0) cannot deal with OM magnifier images, so these exposures
are ignored for the first time in this pipeline version. The lowest energy
band PN image is now excluded from the source detection process, this
significantly reduces the number of spurious sources (although it alters the
meaning of the PN hardness ratios, this will be fixed in a future SAS).
All-epic observation images are now made with out of FOV events removed from
MOS images (a new SAS is required to do this also for the PN image).
The logic for selection of sources to have RGS spectra made has been changed
so that if there are no epic source lists then the proposal target position
is used to make a spectrum, otherwise epic sources only within 5 arcmin and
above 0.2 c/s are used to provide the positions (in addition, a spectrum is
made of the brightest epic source in the RGS FOV). The background flare
rejection scheme for the epic PN images was changed from using a full band
lightcurve to using one covering 7-15 keV, with a reduced threshold of 6 c/s.
Finally, a new module (VerifyODF) was introduced to ensure that the correct
version of odfingest was run. This is needed because this task is not run
within the PCMS.
