Summary release note for pipeline 02000035_20010618.143655

This note describes the changes between the previous production pipeline and 
the new production pipeline. The previous production pipeline has existed 
under two names (02000033/20010426.174813 and 04000003/20010525.103850), these 
pipelines were identical and both used SAS 5.0.3 (xmmsas_20010424_1139). The 
new pipeline (02000035/20010618.143655) uses SAS 5.1 (xmmsas_20010610_1902
with 1 minor exception: dpsssrc comes from xmmsas_20010601_1901). This new 
pipeline became operational on 2001-06-18T14:36:55.

Brief summary of scientifically important pipeline changes:

This is the first pipeline to make use of SAS 5.1. There have also been a 
number of pipeline changes.

Significant changes include: Minimum likelihood in epic source lists raised 
from 10 to 18 (16 for pn due to 1 less input image), spline background maps 
made with 16 nodes rather than 10, background map no longer uses 
exposure map, correct xid band definition for pn source lists and sensitivity 
maps. EPIC cross-instrument source Ccorrelation parameters improved. Epic 
HK-based GTIs created (for low gain exclusion and temps out of range). Almost 
total revision of RGS events/exposure time processing, RGS image plots exclude 
PI<170. Removed redundant columns from pn event lists. Copy of ODF summary 
html file added as INDEX.HTML. EPIC box detection likelihood bug fix, 
improved keywords, uses CAL PSF. emenergy has improved event background
determination. emevents now has CR rejection in timing mode. emframes uses 
source position to determine time offset in timing mode. emldetect has a number
of xid band related bug fixes, and now uses the CCF PSF. epframes has updated
offset for CCD5/Col10. evselect no longer calculates backscale. odfingest has
more sophisticated pn filter wheel position measurement using HK data, OM fast
mode supported. omdetect limiting flux corrected. rgsangles rewritten, makes 
use of merged event list. rgsbadpix uses new algorithm. rgsevents rewritten, 
now writes rejected pixels. rgsfilter is a new task which selects events. 
rgsframes rewritten using revised exposure scheme. rgsregions replaces
rgsregion. rgssource rewritten. srcmatch provides more complete output.
