Summary release note for ppsprod-17.40 ====================================== Pipeline Version: 17.40_20181123_1545 Pipeline name: ppsprod Release Date: 2018-11-23 SAS Manifest: xmmsas_20181121_1450 Summary ======= This new version of the pipeline is based on the SAS17.0 public release with some minor modifications. The main changes in the products with respect to previous version are -) EPIC Light Curves are produced per energy band for all exposures. A new FITS file is available under the PPS products per EPIC instrument and observation which contains Light Curves for all the available exposures in the energy bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8. For TIMING mode information is given in the energy bands 2, 3, 4 and 9. -) The time bin size for PN Light Curves has been fixed to 20 times the frametime of the corresponding exposure mode. For MOS1/2 the method to fix the time bin size according the mean count rate has not been modified. -) A new file with the spacecraft orbit information is now also included under the PPS products. The file contains an extension ORBIT with orbital information during the observation. The extension contains spacecraft position and velocity in Geocentric Equatorial J2000 coordinates , as well as the position in Geocentric Solar Ecliptic coordinates, -) Three color image graphics are now corrected by instrumental background (Filter Wheel Close (FWC)) and Out of Time (OoT) events. The FITS file contains the net data as primary image and the raw image and the estimates for the FWC and OOT as extensions. -) As a result of the changes in SAS 17.0, PN imaging calibrated event FITS files contain new extensions with the number of discared lines, used to correct the events energy. For Small Window mode this information is not available although the extension is still present for CCD#4 and filled with empty values. The version of SAS being used is a pipeline-specific manifest xmmsas_20181121_1450. This is based on the public SAS release 17.0.0, described at http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/xmm-newton/sas-release-notes-1700 Documentation ============= Documentation for this pipeline can be found at: http://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/xmm-newton/pipeline and links therein.
