ABSTRACT
The observation of time varying Fe Ka line emission at 6.4 keV in several regions in the central 100 pc is strongly suggesting that the SMBH experienced a period of more intense activity in the relatively recent past. The observation of these echoes can provide invaluable information on the last high state of Sgr A* and its duty cycle, on the matter distribution in the region and on the chemistry induced by these intense emissions. We propose to perform a deep scan of the molecular matter in the central degree with XMM to build the lightcurve of Sgr A* over the last centuries thanks to the time dependent morphology of the 6.4 keV line emission. This deep scan will also contribute to settle other issues such as the 'hot plasma'.
