ABSTRACT
The hot corona is central for our understanding of the X-ray emission of active galactic nuclei (AGN). Beside its importance, in fact, we have very little knowledge about the corona. The last years established a new viewing angle as a few observations allowed to observe the building of a hot corona, especially in the context of tidal disruption events. Unfortunately, this observations had to follow an opportunistic approach which substantially limits their significance. Here we propose a systematic monitoring of the building of a corona in ESO 253-G003. ESO 253-G003 shows a strongly periodic disruption of its X-ray emission every ~114 days and subsequent recovery of its X-ray emitting hot corona within 20 days. This offers a unique opportunity to systematically monitor the raise of a corona.

PAPERS
Authors marked in red are (co-)investigators in the proposal

Classification of papers are:
- CLASS 1:   papers that present specific XMM-Newton observations
- CLASS 2: papers that refer to published XMM-Newton results with complementary observations, follow-up analysis, or theoretical analysis
- CLASS 3: further deliveries which resulted from the program and which are made available to the community (e.g. source catalogues, processed images or spectra in public data base)
- CLASS 4: comments and suggestions from PI
