ABSTRACT | |
We propose EPIC observations to obtain a complete view of the Magellanic bridge stellar population in X-rays for the first time. These comprise of LMXBs, supersoft sources and other possible serendipitous objects. The targets are a carefully chosen high-purity sample associated with the MCB obtained by correlating the deepest eROSITA data with multi-wavelength information to remove foreground and background contaminants. Our systematic survey of selected MCB regions will create a unique data set to understand the tidal interactions between the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Small Magellanic Cloud and trace the history of the Local Galaxy group. |
PAPERS |
