Multi-wavelength Campaign of the Impending Historic Recurrent Nova -- T Coronae Borealis
The MAGIC observations of RS Oph have established novae as VHE
gamma-ray emitters and the emission mechanism seems to point
towards protons as the underlying particle population. T CrB
belongs to the same category of recurrent nova and erupts every
80 years. According to the current predictions, the system should
undergo its next eruption in 2024.4 +- 0.3. We propose
an extensive multi-wavelength campaign for the impending historic
eruption of T CrB covering from optical, to X-rays, HE, and VHE
working together with our colleagues in VERITAS.
Details on Observing Strategy and Trigger Criteria
XMM-Newton observation should take place as early as possible
after the optical trigger, hopefully within a day or two. These
observation should be take as simultaneously as possible during
the first 14 days.
