Planets

As in the visible band, all the planets shine via reflected or scattered solar radiation. Some also have magnetospheres which provide a mechanism for generating a locally powered source of X-rays. Thus planetary X-rays carry information about the atmosphere or surface, and sometimes about the planetary aurora. [Ref 2]
