Blazars & BLLacLike the radio galaxies these sources are again strong radio emitters, characterized by extreme variability across the whole electromagnetic spectrum. Their spectral energy distribution is dominated by components, generated in a relativistic jet: synchrotron emission and inverse Compton from the jet relativistic electron population. Both components contribute to the X-ray emission, in a fraction which depends on the detailed spectral properties of each object. |
