About this Image

X-ray colour image of the sky around the isolated neutron star RX J0720.4-3125 which is the central bright object. The image is a composite of images obtained by the EPIC instruments in three energy bands (0.2-1.0 keV, 1.0-2.0 keV and 2.0-4.5 keV) coded in the colours red, green and blue. The energy spectrum of the neutron star mainly covers energies below 1 keV making the object to appear in red in the image.
