4.3 The concept of an intermediate memory

All information that is entered into any of the XRPS web interfaces is, upon pressing the ''commit'' button, stored in a memory area. The commit button is always located at the bottom of the right frame of the web interface. From this memory area entries can be loaded again later, as sketched in Fig. 3. This implies that XRPS users have no access to the proposal database itself.

The submission procedure is described in § 5.7. A proposal can be submitted only once and will disappear from the working area. It will not be possible to edit again the proposal in a new browser session at a later time.

Submission will only be acknowledged by email upon receipt of the submitted proposal in the proposal database.

If changes need to be made to the proposal after submission, the PI has to contact the SOC via xmmpi@sciops.esa.int. This email must list the proposal number in the Subject line.
